On 17-19 September, the ECPM (European Christian Political Movement) in collaboration with the Ecumenical Prayer Group from the Romanian Parliament will organize the first South East European Conference with as theme: "Faith and Challenges in the XXI Century: Unity through diversity combined with the Romanian Prayer Breakfast (RPB) that is hosted by the President of the Romanian President of the Chamber of Deputies, Mr. Bogdan Olteanu. The event will start with the Romanian Prayer Breakfast on 17 and 18 September in the morning, will followed be by the ECPM South East European Conference on the 18th in the afternoon and evening. On 19 September we will organize a special Transylvanian excursion. The conference will take place in the Romanian Parliament (the Parliamental Palace).

During different plenary sessions and workshops we will try to look together about the identity of South East European and how we could collaborate more in order to face the challenges of the XXI Century based on our faith and love from Jesus which is focused on creating unity through our diversity. Main speakers that are invited are Vilma Trajkovska, the wife of the former president of Macedonia, but also other important keypeople are invited from other countries like Georgia, Moldova, Romania, Serbia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Albania, Croatia, Bulgaria and many others. A first list of confirmed keyleaders will be provided at the end of June.

Shortly the sessions for the South East European conference are as follows:

  • plenary debate about the theme: "Faith and challenges in the XXI Century." For this session we are looking for key-politicians who has influence in the society and can share their ideas about the development and future of the region.
  • Workshops: "Church and Society", "Towards the European Union: between sovereignty and Euro-Atlantic integration"; and "the role and identity of countries in South East Europe." For these sessions are invited professors, lawyers, clergy, politicians etc. who could contribute to these themes.
  • Plenary testimonies: for this session we are looking for important politicians who are willing to tell about their personal life and how faith in Jesus could help him/her in making political decisions or how it conflicted it in making compromises etc.
