Pro Vita Association for born and unborn
The Association “Pro-Vita Association for born and unborn” (Romania) is a non-governmental and non-profit organization nationwide which promotes the values of life, of family and of parental vocation, mainly the right to life of all human beings since conception and until natural death. Considering that life is sacred and inviolable, Pro-vita opposes to any events which may prevent, affect or stop the course of life, in its initial phase (abortion), adult (crime, suicide, capital penalty) or final (euthanasia and assisted suicide).
The Bucharest branch of “Pro-Vita Association for born and unborn children” acquired legal personality in 2005 and acts through the following means:
1. Humanitarian and charity activities
2. Activities of education and information
Pro-vita intends to raise, among the public opinion, the degree of awareness of humanity and of the right to life of the unborn child, as well as of other topics related to the problems of life and of family, through the organization of training courses, seminars, debates, public manifestations and other activities for public sensitization.
3. Lobby and advocacy
Pro-vita supervises the activity of Parliament and of the central public authorities and it is in contact with them, in order to influence the factors of decision, with a view to propose, support and apply, respectively to oppose to the legislative initiative, in conformity with the purpose of the Association.
4. Actions in courts of law
Pro-vita reserves its right to state and formulate actions, demands, petitions and necessary defences in front of competent courts, according to the principles promoted by the Association.
The association obtained the definitive and irrevocable annulment in court of a decision of a body of the public administration (National Council Against Discrimination) regarding banning religious symbols from public schools.
