On 2 September, the heads of the Federal Boards of the Partei Bibeltreuer Christen and Zentrumspartei (PBC and Zentrum) met in Nürnberg in order to discuss the further steps for coöperation.
The parties, that already agreed on all important policies, have come together through a long process and now want to work together concretely. This starts immediately with the mutual election support in the local elections in Lower Saxony, on September the 10th and the federal elections on 17 September in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Both parties place the “responsibility before God and humanity” in the centre of their politics. The Christian ethics, like the Ten Commandments, form the basis of both parties political positions concerning family, marriage, the rights of the unborn and social policy. The PCB and Zentrum also reject international missions of the German Federal Armed Forces.
For 2007, actions are planned for the rights of the unborn, handicapped and the elderly. On the European level both parties already coöperate within the ECPM. In the near future, they aim for a growth of a Christian political movement towards 50.000 members and they hope to open a stable potential voting public of 8-10%.
