Good local election results Lithuanian Christian Democrats
Monday 26 February 2007 09:07 In the latest local elections in Lithuanis the LKD got more than
5 percent of the votes (total in Lithuania). Counting the seats in
local councils, the LKD got more than 6 percents of seats. That
means around 100 seats in local councils in Lithuania. Also there
is a possibility that the LKD will have mayors in Moletai and
Radviliskis because the LKD won the elections in these
regions.
According to Paulius Saudargas (international secretary) these
results show the beginning of the renaissance of their party.
Backed with this outcome they hope to pass the barrier in the
upcoming parliamentary elections within a year and then to be again
a parliamentary party.
