Yesterday’s Danish parliamentary election did unfortunately not result in a return of the Danish Christian-democrats in the Danish parliament. The leading liberal party continued to be the largest party while far-left and far-right parties gained ground together with the ‘new alliance’ party. The results in Denmark are therefore in pace with the disturbing current European trend that extreme and one-issue parties gain ground. The ECPM nevertheless remains confident that the people in Europe and in will discover that good government means more than slogans and that real governing is needed for the challenges of the 21st century. The ECPM is also convinced that Christian-democracy does offer real solutions for the real problems in Europe and . The ECPM will therefore continue to back Christian-democracy in and hopes that the Danish KD will find a direction to regain support.
