Wednesday 09 January 2008 14:29 Humanitarian Crisis for Post-Election Victims Support Appeal.
As a result of the rigged election in on the December 27 2007,
There has been unprecedented outbreak of lawlessness culminating into violence which has caused loss of lives, property and distress to people in different parts of .
I personally have lost several immediate family members in the Western side of Kisumu, they were directly shot by the security forces from behind. Several members of Christian Democratic Movement of Kenya (CDMK) were killed and some are in hospitals or currently missing.
My own 5 children are still hold up in a church compound in
alongside with many others and are now without water, food, medication, shelter and clothes.
Also there is many raping taking place, these victims may have to live with this stigma for rest of their lives as hatred and animosity entrench even deeper into their hearts. Also, HIV and other diseases, in combination of a lack of food and Medicare, cause many victims at the current moment and probably also in the near future.
Under these circumstances, I have realized the urgent need to support victims of violence back in my beloved country . My aim is to convey goodwill message of reconciliation, peace and justice in our country, likewise, to start a fundraising process to help victims in in order to meet their immediate needs in water, food, Medication, clothes and sheltering.
As a result I would want to ask Christians Politicians and friends of to
pray and create awareness of the acute Kenya Humanitarian Crisis. To see how you can help in other ways please visit our website: www.cdmk.org or www.eactmf.org.
Yours sincerely in Christ,
Rev Okoth Otura,
President/Founder,
Christian Democratic Movement of (CDMK) & East Africa Christians Transformation Mission Fellowship-(EACTMF)
