Thursday 27 November 2008 13:14 At the end of October, a conference took place in Kiev initiated by the Christian Democratic Union of Ukraine. The conference was organized for Christian Democratic Parties in Eastern Europe who still have to deal with a lot of similar problems. The ECPM was also invited for this conference and we proudly announce the memorandom that was signed at the conference.
Memorandum on collaboration of
Christian DemocraticParties of Eastern Europe

We are leaders and plenipotentiaries of Eastern Europe's Christian Democratic parties, participants of its first conference, held in Kiev (Ukraine) on October 24-25, 2008.
Having responsibility before God and citizens - past, present, and future generations;
Confessing Christian values;
Striving to develop societies on the basis of Christian democratic principles of freedom, solidarity, justice, responsibility, priority of family, protection of creation, etc;
Realizing the necessity of Eastern Europe's Christian democrats' consolidation, establishing strong relations, dialogue and collaboration among our parties;
with the purpose to promote Christian Democratic ideas in Eastern Europe's area.
We sign this Memorandum of collaboration between our parties negotiating the following:
1) Exerting all the efforts to assist closer cooperation between parties with equality, honest partnership, and defense of common interests, with formation of maximal support and assistance;
2) To exchange data between parties;
3) To assist integration of efforts to advancement Christian democratic ideology in Eastern Europe;
4) To hold annual conferences of Eastern Europe's Christian democratic parties for discussing questions of spreading Christian democratic ideas in Eastern Europe. Conferences will be held in countries whose representatives sign this Memorandum;
5) Between conferences to regularly consult on questions, important for the movement, to invite representatives of other parties and take part in actions conducted by other parties signing this Memorandum;
6) To assist Eastern Europe's Christian democratic Internet gateway mutually;
7) To assist edition and distribution of Christian democratic literature;
8) To assist consolidation of efforts by creating coordinating Council of chairmen of political parties signing the Memorandum;
9) To establish Eastern Europe's bureau of Christian democratic parties, operating from Statute of by-laws (enclosed);
At the same time, we confirm personal interest in developing relationships with European and world Christian democratic groups, especially with European Christian Political Movement and Centrist Democrat International.
We invite Eastern Europe's political parties and public Christian democratic organizations to consolidate.
This Memorandum is effective at signing and is opened to be signed up by political forces and public organizations that share common values.
This Memorandum is prepared having twelve Russian and English copies with identical force and is signed in Kiev on October 25, 2008 (each participant has one copy with a suggestion to join Memorandum. One copy goes for Homeland Union - Lithuanian Christian Democrats, and for Latvia's First Party/Latvia's Way. One copy goes for depositary, one for Centrist Democrat International and one for European Christian Political Movement.
