Positive local election results for Dutch ChristianUnion (10% growth)

The Dutch ChristianUnion gained around 46 new seats in the latest local elections of 7 March last. With this result the ChristianUnion has grown to more than 400 local seats. Party leader André Rouvoet (MP) stated that the result was very satisfying: ,,This result is the best result the ChristianUnion and its predecessors ever had". Party office director Henk van Rhee stated that this result is very promising for the provincial and national elections in 2007.
