On October 1- the International Day of the Older Person- we went to MEP Helmut Geuking's office to have a short talk about his work on behalf of the elderly. He was happy to share his story and experiences from many years of social work and advocacy for the elderly in Germany and in the European Union. He expressed his concern about the ways the current coronavirus crisis has affected the seniors in particular and he encouraged all of us to take the time to see the older people around us: to notice them, to care for them, to keep them company.

It was a good day to reflect and to realize what a blessing these people are in our lives and a reminder to cherish the time we have with them.
